E-sports event selected for the first time, 2022 Commonwealth Games will be pilot e-sports event
On February 9, the International Esports Federation (GEF) and the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) jointly announced that the upcoming 2022 Commonwealth Games will feature a pilot esports event, the first time esports has appeared at the Commonwealth Games. The Commonwealth eSports Championship will be held in Birmingham in August 2022, concurrently with the Commonwealth Games, but will have a separate brand, medals, organisation and management. According to the announcement, Commonwealth Games organisers hope the new event will attract new audiences and allow Commonwealth Sports to further explore the potential of esports. The organizers announced that 'multiple e-sports competitions around the world' will be held in the event, but it has not officially announced which e-sports projects will be selected.

2022 first offline battle IEM Katowice preview

2022 Pokemon Unite Series Event Details Revealed
On February 10, The Pokemon Company announced details for the 2022 Pokemon Combined Series Championship. The competition will start in February 2022 and will include a series of qualifying matches each month, with a grand final in London.
